Ahadith Series (113)

Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with both of them) reported that when Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) came to Medina, he found the Jews observing the fast on the day of Ashura. They (the Jews) were asked about it and they said: It is the day on which Allah granted victory to Moses and (his people) Bani Isra'il over the Pharaoh and we observe fast out of gratitude to Him. Upon this the messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: We have a closer connection with Moses than you have, and he commanded to observe fast on this day.

Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) observed Saum (fasting) on the day of `Ashura' and commanded us to fast on this day
(Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Commentary:
1) When the messenger of Allah (pbuh) came to Madina as an immigrant from Makka ,he found that the Jews are fasting the day of Ashora. When he asked them why they fast that day .They replied that the day which Allah (pbth) granted victory to Moses and his followers and drowned Pharaoh and his soldiers in the sea.The messenger told them that Muslims have a closer connection with Moses than them He commanded Muslims to fast that day celebrating this occasion.
2) In these Ahadith the messenger of Allah (pbuh) reveals the brotherhood of all prophets and messengers .Why not, and they all were sent by the only one God of that world. They all were sent with one message (there is no God but God (Allah). They were sent with the message of oneness and monotheism. The messenger of Allah told us in another Hadith that all prophets and messengers are brothers ,their religion is one (Islam) and their mothers are different.
3) Every victory of any prophet is the victory of all prophets. The victory of any prophet is the victory of faith on infidelity and the believers on the unbelievers. At the end any victory is from Allah as he said in the Qur'an :

And there is no victory except from Allâh, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise".(3/126)"

4) When The Roman was defeated by the Persians .The unbelievers were very happy because the Persians were pagan as them. Muslims were very sad because the Roman were people of book but Allah (pbth) revealed verses of the Qur'an to relieve the hearts of the believers that The Roman will have victory in ( beda) years (from 3 to 9 years) .Muslims were very pleased with this good tidings . Lately the Roman defeated the Persians and Muslims were very pleased with the victory of the Roman. These verses are a miracle they prove that the Qur'an is from Allah .If the Qur'an was from Muhammad (pbuh) ,how can he risk himself by expecting the result of the battle will happen between 3 to nine years Let's see what the Qur'an said in this occasion

The Roman Empire has been defeated ―In a land close by; but they, (even) after (this) defeat of theirs, will soon be victorious Within a few years. With Allah is the Decision, in the Past and in the Future: on that Day shall the Believers rejoice― (30/4

Ahadith Series (114)

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Allah the Most High says: `From amongst my slaves, the quicker the one is in breaking the Saum (fasting), the dearer is he to me.''' (At-Tirmidhi(

Commentary:
The messenger's habit in fasting is to break fasting in its early time and perform the (Maghrib) prayer and to delay (Sohor - the meal before dawn) in its late time .He said that Allah (pbth) loves those who do that.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said :"The best month for observing Saum (fasting) next after Ramadan is the month of Allah, the Muharram; and the best Salat (prayer) next after the obligatory Salat is Salat at night (Tahajjud prayers) (Muslim)

Commentary :
1) The messenger of Allah (pbuh) tells us about the favour of the month of the Muharram .He said that the best fasting after Ramadam is in the Muharram (in rewards) .He also added that the best prayer (Salat) after the obligatory Salat is the night salat (voluntary salat). The favour of the night salat is very great where one becomes empty for Allah only in the interior of the deep darkness.Prostrating between his Generous Hands supplicating to him, asking his forgiveness, his satisfaction,His Mercy and his supports. The soul of man raises high in the side of Allah enjoying his approach away from this material world. What spiritually supreme moments ! .
2) The messenger of Allah used to keep standing (in prayer) so long(at nights) that the skin of his feet would crack. When his wife asked him "Why do you do that while Allah (SWT) has forgiven your former and latter sins ? He said : "Should I not be a grateful slave of Allah ?"
3) Allah praised those who keep standing praying at night supplicating to Allah. He (pbth) promised them great rewards. No one can know what is kept hidden for them of joy and rewards as Allah said in the Qur'an :

Their sides forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend (in charity in Allâh's Cause) out of what We have bestowed on them No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do (32/16-17)

Ahadith Series (115)

The messenger of Allah (pbuh ) said : "Fasting is not the abstention of eating and drinking only but the abstention of the nonsense and the obscenity. If anyone reviles you or tries to quarrel with you, you should say: `I am fasting.I am fasting .

Commentary :
The purpose of fasting is not the hunger and the thirsty, but seizing the tongue and the organs from harming and affronting others .This is the true fasting that satisfies Allah (SWT) and his messenger (pbuh)
-

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Three men came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet (PBUH) to inquire about the worship of the Prophet (PBUH). When they were informed, It seems as if they lessened it and said: "Where are we in comparison with the Prophet (PBUH) while Allah has forgiven his past sins and future sins". One of them said: "As for me, I shall offer Salat all night long.'' Another said: "I shall observe Saum (fasting) continuously and shall not break it". Another said: "I shall abstain from women and shall never marry". The Prophet (PBUH) came to them and said, "Are you the people who said such and such things? By Allah, I fear Allah more than you do, and I am most obedient and dutiful among you to Him, but still I observe fast and break it; perform Salat and sleep at night and marry women. So whoever turns away from my Sunnah does not belong to me". (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Commentary :

1) This Hadith reveals that we must worship Allah according to The Sunna of Muhammad (pbth) not to increase or decrease anything of it.When the three people were informed about the worshipping of the messenger . It seems as if they lessened it and (perhaps) they based that on that Allah (pbth) has forgiven his past and future sins.So they said : Where are we in comparison with the Prophet (PBUH) while Allah has forgiven his past sins and future sins ? They decided to increase their worshipping as mentioned in the Hadith. The messenger of Allah did not accept them on that . Although he (pbuh) fears Allah more than anyone of that world ,and he is most obedience and dutiful among all people of that world to Allah,he fasts and break fast,he performs prayer and sleep to get back his strengthen to perform worshipping again and again .
2) At the end of Hadith the messenger of Allah that this is his guidance (Sunna) and anyone leaves his Sunna ,he will not be from the Umma (nation) of Muhammed.
3) The Sunna of Muhammad is to marry women, moderate in worshipping, forbidden in fasting days and nights and forbidden in inventing in the religion

Ahadith Series (116)

-

Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with both of them) reported: A woman came to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and said: My mother has died, and fasts of a month are due from her. Thereupon he said: Don't you see that if debt was due from her, would you not pay it? She said: Yes (I would pay on her behalf). Thereupon he said: The debt of Allah deserves its payment more than (the payment of anyone else). (Muslim)

Commentary :
This Hadith reveals that anyone dies and he was a debtor to Allah with a month fast .The heir must fast behind him . The messenger added that debt of Allah desetves its payment.
-

The messenger of Allah (pbuh) said : If you want to fast the day of Friday, don't fast it alone .Fast it with a day before it or a day after it.

Commentary :
The messenger of Allah forbidden us from fasting the day of Friday only.Friday is the weekly feast of Muslims.Everyone wants to fast on Friday .He must fast Thursday and Friday or Friday and Saturday.

Ibn-Omar (may Allah be pleased with him) said : The messenger of Allah (pbuh) imposed on all Muslims the charity of Ramadan (Al-Fitre Sadaqua) a measure of barley or a measure of dried dates. On the small and the big,on the the slave and the free.

Commentary :
The messenger of Allah (pbuh) imposed on every Muslim the charity of Ramadan. It is given to the poor and needy Muslims. It is (as the messenger said ) a purifying for the person who fasted from the nonsense and the obscenity that perhaps happened during fasting .It is also food for the poor and the needy in the feast. The messenger of Allah commanded us to enrich the poor during the feast. The time of delivering it is at the end of Ramadan before the prayer of the feast. It is imposed on :bomb: every Muslim if he is free or slave ,big or small .The amount is a measure (approximation 3 kg ) of the food of the country for every one .Some religious scientists permitted delivering it money but the majority preferred to deliver it as the messenger delivered it (food).Happy feast for you all.
